Welcome! I’m Anne.
I’m an author, journalist, editor, and media analyst. I’ve been a professional writer for over a decade.
You may have seen my work in the BBC, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Variety, Shondaland, Teen Vogue, Wired, PEOPLE, Cosmopolitan, The Impression, and many more. I write about film, fashion, health, dance, and more. I currently cover Saturday Night Live as a freelance reporter for Variety. Annually, I report on the Cannes Film Festival and Paris Fashion Week for France Media Group. I enjoy teaching, too; I’ve taught a pitching course at the Irish Writers Centre in Dublin and led a pitching workshop for the Female Film Club. I also teach ballet classes.
I’m a graduate of the Second City writing program and the Yale Writers Workshop. I earned my MA in Creative Writing at the University of Westminster in London and was selected to be part of London’s Soho Theatre Writers' Lab. Raised in the Midwest, I can be found in St. Louis, NYC, London, and my favorite city, Paris.
I’ve appeared as a guest journalist for roundtable discussions hosted by The Atlantic, appeared as a guest on the film-focused podcast “I Need to See That,” reviewed books for Kirkus Reviews, and am very seriously considering getting a dog.
I’m also a novelist, and I am represented by Maria Whelan at InkWell Management Literary Agency.
